Caliper, a talent management solutions company, announced today its partnership with one of the largest universities in the U.S., the University of Central Florida.
As of the fall of 2019, the University of Central Florida, in partnership with Caliper, will deploy programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels that will equip tomorrow’s HR and business leaders with the tools, knowledge, and professional development to enhance early career acceleration.
As part of this program, students will have the opportunity to leverage Caliper’s scientifically validated workplace assessment, the Caliper Profile, to gain insight into how to apply valid assessment tools in solving human capital issues as well as how to leverage their own strengths and pinpoint areas for professional development.
“Not only does the UCF College of Business provide students with world-class instruction offered by foremost experts in their fields, but they also take a science-driven approach to developing business-critical skills such as effective risk-talking, leadership communication, collaboration, innovative problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making,” said Tom Schoenfelder, Ph.D., Caliper’s Principal Scientist and Head of Academic Research and Partnerships. “This uniquely positions their students in the job market and will provide clear advantages that will follow them throughout their careers.”
Caliper has worked with dedicated UCF faculty members to provide hands-on, practical experience that fosters job-ready, employable skills. The program is designed to enhance employability upon graduation by equipping HR students to adapt to the new world of work. In addition, real-world consulting case studies and applied data will be embedded into the curriculum to serve as a basis for guiding learning experiences in the most relevant human resources content areas as defined by SHRM and AACSB. As a result, students will be able to analyze, interpret, and apply data to address a wide range of issues such as employee selection, career planning, performance management, managing diversity, and organizational development.
“We are excited to fully integrate Caliper’s portfolio of assets into three of our graduate programs – MBA, Professional Masters in Human Resources, and Masters of Business Analytics – as well as in our undergraduate certificate program in HR,” said Ron Piccolo, Ph.D., Galloway Professor and Chair of Management at the University of Central Florida’s College of Business. “Partnering with Caliper allows us to provide an engaged, active, relevant, and real-world learning experience for our students, who will have distinct advantages as their careers continue to develop.”
Once students have engaged in their own professional development and have participated in a series of data-driven learning experiences, they will have the opportunity to become Caliper certified. Caliper Certification is a combination of online learning and an expert-facilitated workshop that will help students apply the principles of psychological science to talent management issues. Those who become Caliper certified have access to a certification network and receive immediate credentialing recognized by both SHRM and HRCI.
